What does the annual accounts audit involve?

The audit of the annual accounts can be divided into the statutory audit and the voluntary audit, arising from other requirements and/or regulations, or purely at the client's request.

NOVA holds a Wta licence from the AFM and, on that basis, carries out statutory audits for municipalities. NOVA also performs voluntary annual accounts audits, frequently in cooperation with specialists from accountancy and/or administration firms, or making use of the work they have performed as part of the compilation engagement, partly for maximum effectiveness and efficiency, and partly to maintain a clear separation between compilation and audit work.
